I’m very pleased to participate as the chief guest at the Annual Academic Sessions of the Uva Clinical Society and I extend my warmest greetings to all of you. Since its commencement in 1891, Provincial General Hospital, Badulla has been providing exceptional healthcare to the people of Uva. The Uva Clinical Society, founded in 1973, expanded that service even further by serving as an academic body over the years to continually update the medical knowledge of doctors in the province. The main academic activity of the Uva Clinical Society during the year is its annual academic sessions. As a former director of Provincial General Hospital Badulla, it gives me great pleasure to be present at this prestigious event.

It is an honor to participates as the chief guest at the Annual Academic Sessions of Uva Clinical Society 2020. General Hospital, Badulla was commenced in 1891 as a colonial hospital, serving the Uva province for more than 125 years the institute made as outstanding development during the last few decades. At present it serves as a multi disciplinary tertiary referral center for the province. The current facilities are of a standers adequate for training of medical undergraduates and post graduates.
