History of Badulla
Badulla was an isolated village until the British built roads from Kandy and Nuwara Eliya in the mid 19th century, as part of the growing plantation economy. By the 20th century Badulla had become a regional hub, with the British establishing it as the capital of Uva Wellassa, now known as the Uva Province
This year, it’s the 17th Annual Academic Session, which takes place, and Volume 17 of JUCS will be published along with that.
History of UCS
The society was started in 1973 with the participation of medical professionals from Uva Province. Annual academic sessions were first held in 2006, while the journal’s first volume was published along with the academic sessions.
